Kedarnath Temple Opens For Devotees With Grand Celebrations; CM Dhami Present (x)
Rudraprayag: The portals of Kedarnath Dham were opened for devotees on Wednesday morning at 8 am, during the auspicious time of Vedic chanting and rituals. This marked the formal commencement of the Kedarnath Yatra. Thousands of pilgrims were welcomed to the shrine as fresh snowfall covered the entire place in a thick layer of snow.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday while extending his best wishes, urged devotees to adopt five resolutions. In his message, PM Modi urged pilgrims to adopt five resolutions that are maintaining cleanliness, protecting the environment, fostering a spirit of service and cooperation, promoting local products, and following the travel rules.
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote that, "Today, on the sacred land of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham have been opened for all of us devotees with full rites and rituals. This journey to Kedarnath Dham and the Chardham is a divine celebration of our faith, unity, and rich traditions. Through these journeys, we also get glimpses of India's eternal culture."
While talking about the letter, PM Modi said that, "On the occasion of the commencement of the Chardham Yatra this year, I have expressed my sentiments through a letter to all devotees coming to Uttarakhand. My wish is that Baba Kedar continues to shower his blessings on everyone and make your journeys auspicious. Har-Har Mahadev!"

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present on this auspicious occasion of the opening of the portal. Thousands of devotees witnessed this historic moment, and the entire shrine reverberated with devotion. During the opening, flowers were showered on the temple from a helicopter, further enhancing the enthusiasm and faith of the devotees.
"The Char Dham Yatra is about to commence. I am personally conducting an on-site inspection to ensure all preparations are complete. We are ready in every respect to welcome pilgrims from across the country and the world. All necessary arrangements have been put in place, and the Yatra will be a success," he said.

Religious rituals began around 4 am. After the Panchmukhi Doli was ritually worshipped, the deity's doli was brought to the temple courtyard, where preparations for opening the doors were completed as per the prescribed procedure.
The doors of the temple opened at exactly 8 am and the Panchmukhi Doli of the Lord Shiva was first entered into the sanctum sanctorum.

With this grand event, devotees from across the country and abroad began to arrive to visit Baba Kedarnath. This remarkable confluence of faith, belief, and devotion filled the entire Kedarnath shrine with spiritual energy.
The temple has been elaborately decorated with nearly 51 quintals of flowers, creating a vibrant and spiritual atmosphere ahead of the opening ceremony.
On Monday, the doli proceeded from Phata to Gaurikund, and on Tuesday, it began its final ascent toward Kedarnath. The idol of Lord Kedarnath had been stationed at Omkareshwar Temple for 178 days during the winter months.
